about us—who we are—

Studio2n is a small design firm located in the western Chicago suburbs.
Studio2n is Alma & Tyson. Their work complements each other.

As a former Junior High School teacher, Alma has been in the Communication Design
field for over 10 years both as a freelancer and a college instructor. She is a graduate
from Iowa State University with an MFA in Graphic Design. Alma has a bilingual
background which makes her an asset in the development of multicultural design
strategies. You can see her résumé here.

As a designer, she has received awards from American Graphic Design Awards GDUSA
in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Currently she teaches Visual Communications at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. In her free time she likes to go dancing, play with her kids, take photos, exercise, write on her blog, and loves to eat ice cream.

As a former physicist, Tyson's programming skills provide strong problem solving
capabiilties. His skills include HTML, CSS, ActionScript, PHP, JAVA, C++, and Pascal.
When he is not busy programming, he teaches Ballroom Dancing and practices Karate
with his 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.
